
Beavers Enter Season As Consensus Top 10 Team

OSU is ranked in the top 10 in all six polls
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State baseball team will enter the 2017 season as the No. 7 team in the country per the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), which announced its top 35 teams on Tuesday.

The Beavers, with the ranking, enter the season as a unanimous top 10 club. All six preseason polls have slated Oregon State in the top 10. Collegiate Baseball has OSU at No. 5, with Perfect Game, USA Today and the NCBWA slotting the club at No. 7. D1Baseball.com has Oregon State at No. 8, with Baseball America placing the Beavers ninth.

Oregon State is the highest ranked team from the Pac-12 Conference per the NCBWA, with Arizona at 16, Stanford at 23, Washington placed 26th and Arizona State at 35.

TCU will open the season at No. 1, followed by Florida, LSU and Florida State. South Carolina is sixth and the Beavers trail No. 6 Vanderbilt. Louisville (eighth), East Carolina and North Carolina State round out the top 10.

Oregon State opens the 2017 season Feb. 17 in Surprise, Ariz., when taking on Duke to start the Sanderson Ford College Baseball Classic.
