Palmer, Griego win matches at Drexel

PHILADELPHIA – The Oregon State wrestling team fell 28-8 to Drexel at the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Saturday night to conclude a two-match road trip to the East Coast with an 0-2 record.
Senior 133-pounder Joey Palmer and redshirt sophomore 197-pounder Corey Griego were the only winners for the Beavers (2-6), who lost 38-3 at Rutgers on Friday night in their first dual of the weekend.
Palmer dominated Anthony Canfora 25-10 to earn a technical fall in his match. It was his third technical fall of the season, and the 11th match in which he has scored bonus points while compiling a 17-5 record.
Griego got a late takedown to upend Joshua Murphy 3-2 to claim his match. He is 4-1 in his last five matches and 16-8 overall.
The Beavers start Pac-12 action against Stanford on Jan. 30 with a 7 p.m. dual at Gill Coliseum that will be televised by the Pac-12 Network. It will be the first home appearance since Nov. 20 for the Beavers, the five-time defending Pac-12 champions.
This year's Pac-12 Championships are Feb. 26, at Stanford. The NCAA Championships are March 16-18 at St. Louis.
