Beavers ranked 15th in USA Today/NWCA poll

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State wrestling team moved up one spot to No. 15 in the USA Today/National Wrestling Coaches Association's Top 25 poll on Tuesday.
Also, five Beavers earned Top-20 consideration in their respective weight classes by The Open Mat  and four were named by InterMat in those website's weekly rankings. The team was ranked No. 13 in the dual-meet pool, and No. 23 in the tournament rankings by InterMat.
Oklahoma State was ranked No. 1 by USA Today/NWCA, followed by Penn State, Iowa, Ohio State and Missouri. Future OSU opponents in the rankings were Rutgers (10), Michigan (11), Stanford (14), Oklahoma (18) and Arizona State (20); Appalachian State and Duke also received votes.

The Beavers open the dual-meet season on Saturday with matches against Duke and host Appalachian State at the Mountaineer Duals in Boone, N.C. The Duke match begins at 9 a.m. PST, the ASU match at 11 a.m.
Their home opener is Nov. 20 against Michigan; they begin Pacific-12 Conference action against Stanford on Jan. 30, 2017, also at Gill Coliseum.
The Beavers are five-time defending Pac-12 champions. This year's Pac-12 Championships are Feb. 26, at Stanford. The NCAA Championships are March 16-18 at St. Louis.
