Tinkle Scores 19 Points at Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. –The Oregon State men's basketball team fell to 2-3 on the season with a 75-64 loss to Tulsa on Tuesday night in a non-conference game at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
Sophomore forward Tres Tinkle had 19 points, three steals, two assists and a blocked shot to lead the Beavers. After trailing by as many as 16 points in the first half, they rallied to within 62-58 with 4:01 remaining but Tulsa answered with a 5-0 run to regain control.
OSU never got closer than seven points from that point on and Tulsa hung on to even its record at 2-2 with its second home win in a row following a 27-point loss at Wichita State.
Freshman guard JaQuori McLaughlin complemented Tinkle with 12 points, five rebounds and two assists. Sophomore center Drew Eubanks also hit double figures, with 10 points and five rebounds.
The Beavers got 23 points off the bench, as junior guard Daine Muller and redshirt freshman guard Kendal Manuel scored nine points each and redshirt sophomore forward Tanner Sanders added four. Muller hit three 3-point baskets, and added two steals; Manuel had two assists.
Tulsa outrebounded OSU 38-23 and outscored the Beavers 19-5 from the foul line, as it had 25 attempts to OSU's eight. OSU had 13 turnovers, Tulsa 18.
The Beavers resume non-conference action at 6 p.m. Friday when they host Fresno State at Gill Coliseum. The game will be televised by Pac-12 Oregon.
