Oregon State returns to action Friday night at USC
LOS ANGELES – Maddy Gravley set a career-best with six blocks and Kory Cheshire led the Oregon State volleyball team with seven kills, adding four blocks of her own, as the Beavers dropped a three-set match to No. 9 UCLA Wednesday night at Pauley Pavilion.

Set scores were 22-25, 14-25 and 16-25.

Gravley, making her third start of the season, surpassed her previous best of four blocks, set most recently last week against Utah at Gill Coliseum.

Cheshire hit .333 on the night, recording her seven kills on 15 attempts.

McKenna Hollingsworth and Sam Rouleau each narrowly missed double doubles against the Bruins. Hollingsworth tallied 12 assists and eight digs, while Rouleau finished with seven assists and 10 digs.

Kayla Ellis totaled a team-best 14 digs as Oregon State finished with 49 overall.

The Beavers recorded 10 blocks to the Bruins' eight, but UCLA held the advantage in digs, recording 72.

The Beavers finish their week in Los Angeles Friday night when visiting USC at the Galen Center. The match, which is slated for a 7 p.m. PT start, can be seen live on Pac-12 Oregon, Pac-12 Los Angeles and Pac-12.com.
