Forward Duo Has Combined For 45 Career Goals
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State forwards Timmy Mueller and Jordan Jones have both been named to the Pac-12 Second Team, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Jones led the Beavers in scoring this season with six goals and two assists, followed closely by Mueller with five goals and three assists. The pair of juniors has proven to be one of the most successful forward pairings in Oregon State history, currently sitting at a combined 45 goals scored (Jones with 23, Mueller with 22).
Jones was named Pac-12 Player of the Week on Nov. 7, after scoring three goals over the course of a two-game weekend. The Sociology major's game-winner against San Diego State was one of the top goals of the NCAA soccer season, and checked in at No. 7 on ESPN's SportsCenter's Top-10 Plays. Jones also earned Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week honors in August.
Mueller, a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, scored a hat-trick against San Jose State in September, on his way to Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week recognition. The Business major made the Pac-12 Preseason Team this season, and was a Pac-12 First Team selection in 2015.
