Tinkle Named Pac-12 Player Of The Week

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State sophomore forward Tres Tinkle was named the Pac-12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Monday.
Tinkle had two double-doubles, while averaging 23.0 points and 13.5 rebounds, to lead the Beavers to a 2-0 start to the season. He had 20 points and a career-high 15 rebounds in a season-opening win over Prairie View A&M (78-58) and followed that with a career-best 26 points and 12 boards against UTSA (72-64)
The Missoula, Mont., native also had career highs with 11 free throws, four assists and 38 minutes played against the Roadrunners. He went 21-for-28 from the free throw line in the two games and added five assists, four steals and two blocked shots.
It's the fourth time an Oregon State player has received the recognition after the first week of games as Tinkle joins Jose Ortiz (Dec. 1, 1986), Gary Payton (Nov. 28, 1988) and Ahmad Starks (Nov. 12, 2012) with the first prestigious honor.
This is the 47th time an Oregon State player has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week (A.C. Green and Charlie Sitton shared it on March 12, 1984).
