BOONE, N. C. – The Oregon State wrestling team opened the dual-meet season on Saturday by splitting matches against Duke and Appalachian State at the Mountaineer Duals at ASU's Varsity Gym.

The 15^th-ranked Beavers (1-1) defeated Duke 22-20 in their opening dual but then were upended 25-15 by the host Mountaineers.

Senior Joey Delgado (149) won by pin and freshman Devan Turner (134), senior Joey Palmer (141) and junior Abraham Rodriguez (157) all won by decision against Appalachian State.

Palmer, Delgado, Rodriguez, Rodney Williams (165) and Corey Griego (184) prevailed against Duke, Williams by major decision. Kegan Calkins (125) won by forfeit.

The Beavers open their home dual season against Michigan at noon on Nov. 20. It will be televised by Pac-12 Network.
