Jacqueline Babich has been named Director of Compliance at Oregon State University, Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis announced Monday. Babich replaces Kyle Pifer, who recently accepted a similar position at the University of Washington. Babich arrived in Corvallis from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She had been the Mustangs' Assistant Director of Compliance and Student-Athlete Services since January of 2007. Her responsibilities at SMU included financial aid monitoring, National Letter of Intent administration and coordinated the NCAA CHAMPS/Lifeskills program among other duties. Babich's work experience also includes serving as a graduate assistant for compliance at Marshall University and internships at St. Bonaventure University and Wayne State University. The 2006 St. Bonaventure graduate in political science with a minor in theology was a four-year letterwinner in diving. While competing, she was the Atlantic-10 Conference's representative on the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In addition she was a member of St. Bonaventure's Strategic Planning Committee for Athletics and the University Athletics Committee. She also was awarded a Women's Enhancement Program Postgraduate Scholarship for Careers in Athletics from the NCAA. The Roseville, Mich., native also possesses a master's of science degree in sports administration from Marshall and is pursuing a doctorate in public affairs from the University of Texas at Dallas. |
