CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) held its annual officer elections this past week as Mike Miller of the men’s soccer program was elected to serve as President of the organization for the 2009-10 school year, the athletic department announced on Tuesday.

Other officers for the 2009-10 school year include: Vice President - Jennifer Macias (Cross Country and Track); Treasurer/Scholarships - Anthony Peressini (Wrestling); Secretary - Laura Ann Chong (Gymnastics); Community Relations - Sophie Clough (Women’s Soccer); Team Relations - Whitney Watson (Gymnastics); Public Relations - Keith Pankey (Football); ASOSU Representative - Chris Harms (Men’s Soccer); Student Athlete Welfare/Varsity O Liaison - Robert Hannah (Men’s Crew).

The Oregon State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a collaboration of student-athlete leaders representing all 17-sports at Oregon State. SAAC is part of the innovative "everyday champions" program.

SAAC focuses on the fourth facet of the everyday champions program - Giving back to the community - by arranging over 25 events each year to assist the OSU campus, Corvallis and the Oregon community with causes and outreach programs.

SAAC also bridges a community of all Beaver student-athletes, and across all sports, that have made Oregon State their home. SAAC works with leadership in athletic administration on student-athlete welfare and proposed legislation at the Pac-10 Conference and NCAA levels.

SAAC ensures Oregon State athletics is represented in a first-class manner and the values that make Beaver athletics strong - integrity, passion and determination are showcased in the classroom, in the community, in competition and in life as proud alumni.
