Head Coach Mike Riley has made it perfectly clear that he was not satisfied with the run game last season, although the Beavers looked markedly better at the end of the year with Terron Ward’s 145-yard effort in the Civil War and Storm Woods’ 107 yards in the Sheraton Hawai’i Bowl.

Woods and Ward are both back to help the Beavers improve, as is sophomore Chris Brown and redshirt-freshman Damien Haskins. New offensive coordinator John Garrett will shake things up on the offensive side of the ball as well as Riley hopes to get more of a balanced attack between the run and the pass that has proven in most years to ultimately be the Beavers’ best seasons.

Both Woods and Ward have a chance of moving into OSU’s top 10 for career rushing this season. Woods has 1,417 yards entering the year and needs 494 to unseat Ken Carpenter (1946-49) in the 10th place slot, while Ward has 1,147 and is in need of 689 yards.

Today is the fourth of 15 spring practice videos; Wednesday we feature safety Ryan Murphy.
