There are a lot of words to describe what Mike Riley and Mark Banker have at their fingertips when it comes to the Beaver linebackers for the 2014 season – loaded – might be the best description for a unit that includes a combined 15 letters earned, 72 starts and 559 tackles.
Senior Michael Doctor is the leader of the corps that includes three seniors. The 2013 co-team captain earned a fifth year of eligibility in March after missing all but two games of last season due to an ankle injury sustained against Hawai’i. He is joined by fellow seniors D.J. Alexander and Jabral Johnson as the elder statesmen of the group that is arguably the best in the Pac-12 and among the top units in the nation at the position. It’s too early to exclaim this is the best linebacker group in recent OSU history, but it may very well be the fastest.

The Spring Football Showcase is scheduled for May 3 at Reser Stadium. The day begins at 10 a.m. with the 50-Yard-Line Sale at the Truax Center that features actual game and practice jerseys, shoes and other OSU Athletics apparel. The popular autograph session starts at 10:45 a.m. with the team taking the field at 1 p.m. The game portion of the day will air live on the Pac-12 Networks. More details on all the events will be announced in the near future.
Deposits are being accepted for 2014 OSU season tickets for home games that include Portland State, San Diego State, Washington State, Arizona State, California, Utah and Oregon.
