WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Oregon State junior Lauren Still was named Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year and senior Ellen Pesek was honored as a member of the Pac-12 All-Conference team on Thursday.

Still (Grants Pass, Ore./Hidden Valley HS) rowed in her first full year of competition for Oregon State this past season. She joined the program as a novice and worked her way up to the varsity eight by the end of March. She helped the Beavers enter the CRCA top-20 for the first time since 2010 and anchored OSU's strongest varsity eight boat in the past five years. The junior led the Beavers’ top boat to a win over San Diego at the Pac-12 Challenge and a tie with No. 16 Washington State this season.

Pesek (St. Paul, Minn./Henry Sibley HS) played an intricate role in the Beavers' success this season. She rowed in the 7-seat for the majority of the year for Oregon State, helping notch victories against Duke, Gonzaga, and San Diego.

OSU's season ended recently following a seventh place finish at the Pac-12 Championships.
