WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Oregon State men’s golfers Scott Kim, David Fink and Brian Jung all received Pac-12 All-Academic honors, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Thursday.

Kim was selected to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team for his 3.58 GPA in business accountancy, becoming the first Oregon State men’s golfer to earn First Team recognition since Diego Velasquez in 2010. Kim, a junior from Richland, Wash., was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team last year. He played in 10 tournaments this past season and had a scoring average of 74.55, the fourth best on the team.

Fink, a senior from Kailua, Hawai'i, was selected to the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team for his 3.45 GPA in digital communications. He was named Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention the three previous years and joins Mitch Gillis (2004-07) as the only Oregon State men’s golfers to earn conference honors for academic excellence four times.

The lefty finished his fantastic Oregon State career fifth in scoring average (72.55) and rounds played (130) and tied for ninth in top-10 finishes (9). He led the Beavers in scoring average for the second straight year this past season with a 72.70 and was selected to the All-Pac-12 Second Team.

Jung, a sophomore from Coquitlam, British Columbia, was selected Pac-12 Honorable Mention for the second straight year for his 3.34 GPA in pre-business. He played in nine tournaments this past season and had a scoring average of 74.57, the fifth best on the team. Jung competed as an individual at the Kikkor Husky Invitational and finished in a season-best tie for third place with a 2-under 211.

An Oregon State men’s golfer has now earned conference all-academic honors all 19 years since the recognition began in 1996.

In order to be eligible for the Pac-12 All-Academic teams, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of 3.0 or better and must be a starter or significant contributor.
