Growing up just 45 minutes away from the heart of Beaver Nation in Eugene, Chelsea Tang recognized early in her youth that Oregon State was where she wanted to take her gymnastics skills for college. She quickly realized that competing gymnastics in Gill Coliseum is “magical.”
Tang, a junior, strives to provide consistency in practice as well as competition so her coaches can count on her in every situation and role imaginable. She has performed in the all-around in her last 18 meets and earned Pac-12 All-Conference First Team in the all-around in 2014. This season, she became the eighth gymnast in OSU history to score 9.90 or better on all four events in her career.
An exercise and sport science major with aspirations to be a physician’s assistant, Tang is the gymnastics program’s latest Everyday Champion.
