CORVALLIS, Ore. – Due to overwhelming interest, the Oregon State gymnastics program will host a second camp in mid-July. The day camp, which will be coached by the OSU gymnastics staff and athletes, will run July 18-20, 2014.
Check-in begins Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m., followed by an evening practice from 5-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday practices will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. All practices will be held at Gladys Valley Gymnastics Center, the official training facility of OSU Gymnastics.
The camp is open to girls seven years old and up.
The focus of the camp is to instruct campers in the current techniques and proper progressions involved in gymnastics. The camp is designed to handle campers with limited experience while at the same time offer a challenge to the competitive gymnast. Campers will be placed in groups according to age and ability. A small gymnast-to-coach ratio guarantees plenty of individual instruction by the staff.
Classes consist of vault, bars, tumbling, beam, trampoline, video and gymnastics games and contests.
Cost of the three-day camp is $300 per gymnast and includes lunch for Saturday and Sunday as well as a camp t-shirt.
Registration is available now by filling out and returning the attached application above. For more information regarding the camp, contact OSU Director of Gymnastics Operations Bea Whisenhunt at (541) 737-1969 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Refunds are available through June 30. Space is limited and registration ends when the camp is filled.
NOTE: The overnight camp Oregon State hosts July 8-12 is full and registration has closed for that camp. To get on the wait list please contact Bea Whisenhunt at (541) 737-1969 or email@example.com.
