CLEMSON, S.C. - After a hectic weekend of weather, the Oregon State Women's Rowing team capped off the Clemson Invitational with another Varsity 8 victory in the final session on Sunday at Lake Hartwell.

The Beavers V8 boat, fresh off a victory on Saturday, took to the water with command once again and posted a 7:08.8, finishing over two seconds ahead of Harvard (7:11.2) and nearly 12 seconds ahead of Duke (7:20.4).

"The V8 got off to a rough start this morning," Oregon State head coach Emily Ford said. "They've been extremely consistent this season and this was really the first time they struggled to get into a rhythm. To their credit, they did an awesome job of turning that around for the second race today."

Oregon State would also notch a second place finish in the afternoon session's 2V8 race with a time of 7:49.4, finishing just two seconds in front of Tennessee (7:51.4).

"The 2V8 had a solid weekend of racing," Ford said. "They were pretty consistent throughout the weekend and did a nice job winning a lot of close races."

In their first race of the day, the Beavs were narrowly edged for third place by Gonzaga (6:56.3) the V8. Soon after in the 2V8, Oregon State would grab hold of fourth again, just behind Michigan State (7:08.6).

The Beavers would claim two more fourth place finishes, in the Varsity 4 (8:16.7) and 3V8 (7:47.7). Oregon State's afternoon 3V8 race was cancelled due to safety concerns as the wind picked up.

"Overall, we had a great experience at Clemson this weekend," Ford said. "The competition was strong as expected. We walked away feeling really good about our progress thus far and excited to prepare for Washington State and Pac-12s."

Oregon State will return to the water on Saturday, May 3 in a head-to-head matchup with Washington State at Wawawai Landing in Pullman, Wash.
