CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State Women's Rowing team is set to travel across the country to take part in the Clemson Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C.
The Clemson Invite is divided into three sessions, two on Saturday and one on Sunday. On Saturday, the morning session begins at 5:52 a.m. PT and the afternoon starts up at 2:30 p.m. PT. The next day, racing will begin at 5:52 a.m. once again.
21 teams, including Oregon State, will be taking part in the races over the weekend. Clemson, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, Gonzaga, Harvard, Indiana, Iowa, Louisville, Miami, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA, Washington State and Wisconsin will all be competing.
The Beavers will get busy right away on Saturday morning, starting off the day in the first heat of the Varsity 8 at 5:52 a.m. PT. Following that race, Oregon State will compete in the Second Varsity 8, Varsity 4, and 3V8 in the morning session.
The afternoon session begins for the Beavs with a 3V8 race at 2:37 p.m. PT. The V4, 2V8 and V8 will follow suit, wrapping up what is sure to be a competitive day of racing on Lake Hartwell.
On Sunday, the Beavs wrap up the Invitational with races in the V8, 2V8, V4 and 3V8.
"This event has become one of the team's favorite events," Oregon State head coach Emily Ford said. "It is awesome to get such a diverse sampling of schools from all over the country. We'll race three distinct races with different competitors in each race. I am confident that it will be fast and fierce competition and we are looking forward to testing ourselves against these teams."
