Inside Practice -- Tight End Connor Hamlett
Who is going to replace Brandin Cooks? Head coach Mike Riley gets that question every day it seems and for good reason. The reality is no one player is going to replace a consensus All-American and probable NFL First Round Draft pick; it’s going to be more of a team effort to make up for Cooks’ lost production of 128 receptions, 1,730 yards and 16 touchdowns.
One man who expects to continue to be a target for senior quarterback Sean Mannion is tight end Connor Hamlett. The senior is a postseason honors candidate who enters his final season with 17 career starts and 72 receptions.
Make sure to have your gloves on as we go inside the playing life of Hamlett as he snares passes and blocks linebackers.
The Spring Football Showcase is scheduled for May 3 at Reser Stadium. The day begins at 10 a.m. with the 50-Yard-Line Sale at the Truax Center that features actual game and practice jerseys, shoes and other OSU Athletics apparel. The popular autograph session starts at 10:45 a.m. with the team taking the field at 1 p.m. The game portion of the day will air live on the Pac-12 Networks.
Deposits are being accepted for 2014 OSU season tickets for home games that include Portland State, San Diego State, Washington State, Arizona State, California, Utah and Oregon.
