Oregon State sophomore swimmer Sammy Harrison threw out the first pitch at Monday's softball game between the Beavers and the Ducks.

The sophomore solidified her spot in the Oregon State record books when she won the first Pac-12 Conference title in program history at the 2014 Pac-12 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. In one of the toughest events in the pool, Harrison broke her own school record by over 20 seconds in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 15:55.57.

Harrison continued her banner year with a 10th-place finish in the same event at the NCAA championships in late March. Her performance earned honorable mention All-America honors, making her the first Beaver in school history to earn an All-America nod in the 1,650 freestyle.
