MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Oregon State sophomore Sammy Harrison will compete in the 1,650 freestyle at today’s NCAA Championships in Minneapolis, Minn. The Henderson, Nev., native was initially slated to swim the event around 3:30 p.m. PT, but due to a scratch in the top heat, Harrison will now swim in the first heat of the evening session, which begins at 5 p.m. PT. The scratch also moves Harrison up to the eighth seed, after she entered the week in the ninth position.

Harrison is coming off a 41st-place finish in the 500 freestyle on Thursday. She won the Pac-12 title and set an Oregon State record in her last mile swim.

Live coverage of tonight’s NCAA Championships session can be found on ESPN3.com.
