CORVALLIS, Ore. After shattering the single-round and three-round school records last week, the Oregon State women’s golf team looks to keep the momentum going when it competes at the Bruin Wave Invitational Monday and Tuesday in Tarzana, Calif.

FIELD (17): Oregon State, Arizona, BYU, California, Cal State Northridge, Colorado, Long Beach State, New Mexico State, Oklahoma State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, UCLA, UNC Wilmington, UNLV, USC, Washington and Washington State.

COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,173-yard El Caballero Country Club.

BEAVERS’ LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of seniors Lauren Sewell and Seshia Telles, junior Anica Yoo, and sophomores Ashlee Pickerell and Chelsea Saelee.

FORMAT: Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.

TEE TIMES: There will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Monday with continuous play for the second round that day. There will be tee times off the first and 10th holes beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The Beavers will be paired with BYU and New Mexico State in the first two rounds.

QUOTING HEAD COACH RISË ALEXANDER: "We are excited to go back to the Bruin Wave event at El Caballero Country Club for the fourth straight year. All five of the players competing for OSU this week have competed on this course over the last year or two. That experience will be key in our preparation for the event. We are looking forward to continuing to put first things first and testing our training and course management skills. The players are looking forward to competing at this exceptional venue.”

LAST TIME OUT: Oregon State shattered its three-round school record by posting a 10-over 283-297-294--874 at the Westbrook Spring Invitational last week to finish in a tie for sixth place in the 14-team field. The previous three-round school record was a 20-over 884 at the Rainbow Wahine Classic in Kauai, Hawai’i in 1998.

The 5-under 283 in the opening round crushed the previous Oregon State record of 2-under 282 that was set in 2011 at the Stanford Intercollegiate.

Seshia Telles and Chelsea Saelee both tied for 29th place with a 3-over 219, as Telles shot three consecutive 1-over 73’s and Saelee had scores of 70-75-74 at the par-72, 6,269-yard Westbrook Village Golf Club.

Lauren Sewell and Anica Yoo each finished with a 5-over 221 to tie for 39th place. Sewell tied the school record with a 4-under 68 in the opening round and followed that up with 76-77, while Yoo got better each round with 76-73-72. Krissy Peterson, who made her first career appearance with the team, finished in a tie for 55th with a 9-over 72-78-75--225.

LAST YEAR AT THE BRUIN WAVE INVITATIONAL: Oregon State shot the third-best score among the 15-team field in the final round with a 14-over 302 at the par-72, 6,131-yard El Caballero Country Club to move up to fifth place overall with a 60-over 310-312-302--924. The Beavers finished ahead of three teams ranked nationally, including No. 21 Oklahoma State.

Seshia Telles and Lauren Sewell led the charge up the leaderboard by each shooting a 2-over 74 in the final round. Telles finished in a tie for 16th place with a 12-over 75-79-74--228 for her 10th career top-20 finish, while Sewell finished in a tie for 19th with a 13-over 80-75-74--229 for her eighth career appearance in the top 20.

Anica Yoo had her best finish of the spring, and her eighth career top-20 showing, as she equaled Sewell with a tie for 19th place after shooting a 13-over 78-74-77--229. Ashlee Pickerell had one tough round that affected her overall result, a 15-over 87 in the afternoon on the first day, but still had two solid rounds to help her finish in a tie for 45th with a 25-over 77-87-77--241. Chelsea Saelee was unable to shoot a round in the 70’s and finished the event with a 33-over 82-84-83--249 for a sole 64th place finish.

In the first three years of the Bruin Wave Invitational, the Beavers finished 13th in 2010, 12th in 2011 and seventh in 2012.
