Harrison Sets School Record at Pac-12 Championship

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Sophomore Sammy Harrison set a new school record in the 500 freestyle, as the Oregon State swimming team competed in the second day of the Pac-12 Championships Thursday in Federal Way, Wash.

Harrison opened the day by breaking the Oregon State 500 freestyle record with a preliminary time of 4:42.03, before proceeding to break the record again in the event final, stopping the clock in 4:40.30, good for fourth place. Both marks met NCAA B Standards.

Senior Crystal Kibby placed in 23rd in the 200 IM, finishing the event final with a time of 2:03.76. Freshman Andrea Young finished 34th in the event (2:06.34), while classmate Maranda Alf-Huynh placed 37th (2:09.09).  The Oregon State trio of freshmen Chelsea Chan, Czsarina Isleta and Alice Ochs finished 39th, 40th and 41st, respectively.

Sophomore Amani Amr took 44th in the 50 freestyle (23.80) followed by freshman Sophie MacEwan in 46th (28.83), and sophomore Constance Toulemonde in 50th (23.97).  

The Pac-12 Championships will continue tomorrow.
