CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State swimming team will close out its season this week, as it heads to Federal Way, Wash, to take part in the Pac-12 Championships. The event will begin Wednesday, and will run through Saturday.

The Beavers are led by sophomore Sammy Harrison and senior Crystal Kibby, who will both be looking to lock down a spot in the NCAA Championships by improving on the NCAA B Standard times they reached earlier this season. Harrison has reached NCAA B Standards with top times of 4:46.51 in the 500 freestyle and 16:19.81 in the 1,650 freestyle, while Kibby has reached the cut with times of 2:15.72 in the 200 breaststroke and 2:02.15 in the 200 IM.

Oregon State has been preparing for the Pac-12 Championships since it faced Boise State on Feb. 1. Harrison recorded event wins in the 500 freestyle and the 200 freestyle against the Broncos, while Kibby placed first in the 200 breaststroke.

The Pac-12 Championships will open with the 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay on Wednesday evening, before individual competition begins Thursday. Preliminaries will begin at 11 a.m. before event finals start at 6 p.m. The championships will be televised on tape-delay Sunday at 9 p.m. on Pac-12 Networks.
