BOISE, Idaho – Sophomore Sammy Harrison and senior Crystal Kibby recorded one first-place finish apiece, as the Oregon State swim team faced Boise State in its final dual meet of the 2013-14 season Saturday afternoon.
Harrison won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:56.34, and finished second in the 200 freestyle, stopping the clock at 1:52.75. Kibby placed first in the 200 breaststroke at 2:20.61, while also taking fourth in both the 400 IM and the 1,000 freestyle, with times of 4:34.58 and 10:39.51, respectively.
As a team, the Beavers fell to the Broncos 169-87.
Freshman Czsarina Isleta placed second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.52, before taking third in the 200 breaststroke (2:23.63). Sophomore Amani Amr stopped the clock at 2:06.92 to take third in the 200 backstroke, and finished the 100 backstroke in 58.05, also good for third. Senior Aya Fujimura tallied a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 200 butterfly and the 100 butterfly, finishing with times of 2:09.85 and 59.16, respectively.
Sophomore Constance Toulemonde placed fourth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.03, while freshman Andrea Young took fifth in both the 100 freestyle (54.26) and the 50 freestyle (25.03). Freshman Chelsea Chan finished fifth in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.68), while classmate Jesikah Cavanaugh placed fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:14.40) and sophomore Dakota Bloch finished fifth in the 100 backstroke (1:01.83). Freshman Brooke Meyer placed fifth in the 100 butterfly (59.78).
The team of Harrison, freshman Anni Hecker, Young and Toulemonde took second in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:36.27, while the squad of Amr, Isleta, Fujimura and Hecker finished third in the 400 medley relay at 3:57.71.
The Beavers will return to action at the Pac-12 Championships, which will be held Feb. 26-March 1 in Federal Way, Wash.
