CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State swimming team will hit the road this week, as it prepares for a matchup with Boise State in its final dual meet of the 2013-14 season. The meet will be held Saturday at the Boise West YMCA, and will begin at 11 a.m. PT.
The Beavers hosted the Broncos last season, in a meet that saw senior Crystal Kibby record a pair of first-place finishes in the breaststroke events. Sophomore Sammy Harrison and senior Aya Fujimura also tallied event wins in the meet.
Oregon State is coming off a pair of road loses last week, as the Beavers fell to Washington State and Idaho in the Palouse. Kibby led Oregon State with a combined five event wins over the course of the two meets, while Harrison recorded four first-place finishes.
Boise State recorded a 167-133 Senior-Day win over Denver on Jan. 25, as freshmen Brittany Aoyama and Felicity Cann each broke a pool record. Cann broke her own record, with a time of 1:50.00 in the 200-yard freestyle. Aoyama broke a 14-year pool record in the 100-yard butterfly, stopping the clock at 54.57.
Following Saturday’s meet, the Beavers will begin preparations for the Pac-12 Championships, which will be held Feb. 26-March 1 in Federal Way, Wash.
