The Oregon State University football program invites Beaver Nation to be a part of the Signing Day Celebration from the Valley Football Center Wed., Feb. 5, the first day high school recruits can sign National Letters of Intent.
The day begins at 7 a.m. when the public is invited to join the football team for breakfast and lunch for the approximately five hours of live programming with the Voice of the Beavers Mike Parker. Parker will interview the Beaver coaching staff, current and future student-athletes as well as other guests. There will also be video presentations throughout the day.
“Signing day is always exciting and represents a culmination of the hard work that the coaching staff and university administrators have contributed throughout the recruiting process,” Beaver head coach Mike Riley said. “We are excited to welcome the public to share in the excitement and festivities that make the day so special and to welcome our newest class of Beavers to the program.”
Breakfast is $6 between 7 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., while lunch is $8 between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
If you can’t be on site, you can follow through various mobile means via a social media hub on osubeavers.com as the main source of information regarding the signees. The hub will utilize and encourage fans to be active on Twitter and Instagram. Fans that visit the hub will have the opportunity to catch live video and see highlight videos of the signees via YouTube. They’ll also get behind-the-scenes images provided by Oregon State and its staff while seeing what other fans from Beaver Nation have to say. Fans wishing to be a part of the social conversation are encouraged to use the hashtag #FutureBeavs14 on all their Twitter and Instagram posts.
Fans are also reminded that it’s not too late to sign up for the Signing Day Celebration dinner/auction the evening of Feb. 5 at the Portland Hilton and Executive Towers. The annual event is one of the highlights of the Beaver Athletics calendar.
