CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Orange and Black Exhibition, which was postponed due to weather in early December, has been re-scheduled for this Friday, Jan. 3 at 7 p.m. Admission is free and the team will sign autographs following the event.
“The Orange and Black Exhibition is a key component to our season preparation,” head coach Tanya Chaplin said. “With our first two meets on the road, we’re still a few weeks away from competing in front of our fans and we really look forward to performing for Beaver Nation. The exhibition always signifies that the regular season is coming fast and this year that is truly the case but it will give us that opportunity to clean up our routines before the seasons starts.”
The format for Friday’s exhibition is designed to mimic as closely as possible what the Beavers will face eight days later when they get the season officially started in a three-team meet at Ohio State. The Beavers will present a regular lineup of their top six gymnasts to compete on each event. In addition, the OSU coaching staff will likely have two exhibitions per event.
The Beavers open their season Saturday, Jan. 11 when they travel to Columbus, Ohio to face Ohio State and Bowling Green. OSU’s home opener is Saturday, Jan. 25 when Iowa State visits Corvallis. Oregon State’s annual Pink Out will be held Monday, Feb. 3, when the Beavers host Stanford in a meet that will be televised via the Pac-12 Networks. Season ticket orders will be taken at the exhibition.
The Beavers, who open the season ranked No. 12 in the nation, will be led by returning All-American super-senior Kelsi Blalock and all-conference gymnasts Erika Aufiero, Brittany Harris and Chelsea Tang.
Season and single meet tickets are on sale now online at BeaverTickets.com, by calling 1-800-GO-BEAVS or in person at the Gill Coliseum Ticket Office.
