Final Practice Indicates Kickoff is Nearing
Aloha Beaver Nation!
One hundred thirty practices (approximately), 13 football games, a record setting and national award winning receiver, gaudy quarterback numbers, wins, losses, night games, road trips and just plain excitement. It’s been a crazy season of football for the Beavers and today marks the last of the full practices for the 2013.
It all began officially Aug. 5 on a warm day at the Tommy Prothro Football Complex and it will end at the Aloha Stadium field Christmas Eve day against the Boise State Broncos.
What will you remember of the season? Brandin Cooks juking his way into the Pac-12 and OSU record book as dare we say the best receiver to ever wear the Orange and Black? Maybe it’s quarterback Sean Mannion, who also finds himself in the record book with numerous records, firing darts all over the field. Then there is some outstanding defensive play.
For this group of seniors it has been a great run with their second consecutive bowl game, a group Beaver Nation should be proud of from all facets of being a student-athlete and representing OSU with class.
Following Tuesday’s game it’s time for some rest and relaxation for the team before offseason conditioning begins early in January. It’s back on the field for spring practice March 31 with the spring game May 3 where we will find out who will be the next standout players. It will be fun as always to watch the development of the program led by Mike Riley, the Pac-12 Conference’s longest tenured head coach.
Make sure to check back later for video and photos from today’s practice, including a great point of view video from Brandin Cooks. If you didn’t see yesterday’s video of the luau check out below – some athletic moves to say the least.

Kickoff is closing in for 5 p.m. PST Dec. 24 for the Sheraton Hawai’i Bowl.
