Brandin Cooks Named Biletnikoff Award Semifinalist
Oregon State junior football player Brandin Cooks has been selected as one of 10 semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award, presented annually to the nation’s top receiver.
Cooks is on Pac-12 record pace in several statistical categories this season, and is the current NCAA leader for receiving yards with 1,443 and for receiving yards per game at 144.3, and is second for receptions per game at 10.1 and touchdowns receiving with 14.
The Stockton, Calif., native is aiming to become the second Beaver to win the prestigious Biletnikoff Award. Mike Hass was the recipient of the 2005 honor.
Fans may now help determine which three receivers will advance as finalists by voting as often as once daily at the Biletnikoff Award Fan Vote website. Fan voting will close Sun., Nov. 24 with the three finalists announced Mon., Nov. 25. The Biletnikoff Award winner will be announced live on ESPN's The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Thurs., Dec. 12.
Cooks is the only player from the Pac-12 on the 10-man semifinalist list and is joined by Davante Adams of Fresno State, Jace Amaro of Texas Tech, Odell Beckham of LSU, Mike Evans of Texas A&M, Antwan Goodley of Baylor, Jordan Matthews of Vanderbilt, Allen Robinson of Penn State, Willie Snead of Ball State and Sammy Watkins of Clemson.
