Oregon State University junior defensive end Scott Crichton has been selected as one of 18 players to the mid-season watch list for the Hendricks Award, presented annually to the nation’s premier defensive end.
The 6-3, 265-pound Crichton, a semi-finalist for the Hendricks Award last season, ranks tied for third in OSU history for career sacks with 19.5 and fourth for career tackles-for-loss with 44. The Tacoma, Wash., native has started 33 career games for the Beavers. He has made 34 tackles this season, including 12 for loss with 4.5 sacks, and forced two fumbles.
Crichton is one of four Beavers currently on national postseason awards lists, joining Maxwell Award (top player in the nation) semifinalists wide receiver Brandin Cooks and quarterback Sean Mannion, and Jim Thorpe Award (top defensive back) semifinalist Steven Nelson.
The Beavers are back in action this Saturday when they travel to Tempe to play the Arizona State Sun Devils at 6:30 p.m. PST in a game being televised by the Pac-12 Networks. OSU returns to Reser Stadium for the home finale Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. against the Washington Huskies. For game tickets please access BeaverTickets.com or call 1-800-GO-Beavs during business hours.
