Oregon State Heads North For Dual With Seattle U

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State swimming team will head north this week, as the Beavers hit the road to take on Seattle U in dual meet action Friday at 5 p.m.

Oregon State is coming off its first dual meet win of the season on Saturday, as the Beavers defeated San Diego 154-133. OSU also competed against UCLA and UC Santa Barbara on Friday, and faced UC Davis alongside the Toreros on Saturday. Sophomore Sammy Harrison set a pool record in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:49.93, at UCLA’s Spieker Aquatic Center on Friday. Her record-setting time marked the first of five event wins for the Henderson, Nev., native over the weekend. Senior Crystal Kibby tallied four second-place finishes and one third-place finish over the course of the Beavers’ two-meet Southern California swing.

Seattle U is 0-3 to start the season, and is coming off a 176-80 loss to Washington State on Friday. Blaise Wittenauer-Lee led the Redhawks with three event wins in their meet with the Cougars. The Beavers last faced the Redhawks on Oct. 29, 2011, recording a 190-74 victory at the Dixon Recreation Center.
