CORVALLIS, Ore. –  The Oregon State swimming team will hit the road this week, as it heads to Southern California for a pair of meets. The Beavers will take on Pac-12 Conference foe UCLA, UC Santa Barbara and Florida Gulf Coast Friday at 12 p.m. in Los Angeles, before heading to San Diego on Saturday for a meet against San Diego and UC Davis, which will also begin at noon.

Oregon State is coming off three-straight home meets to start the season, the most recent of which came last Friday against Stanford. Sophomore Sammy Harrison led the Beavers in the meet, finishing first in both the 1000 freestyle and the 500 freestyle, recording season-best times in both events. Overall, Beaver swimmers recorded 41 season-best times in individual events in their meet against the Cardinal.

Harrison recorded her first career collegiate event win at UCLA last season, when she finished first in the 500 freestyle at her first career meet. Senior Crystal Kibby also had a strong meet at UCLA in 2012, tallying three top-five finishes.

This weekend’s meets will mark the first of three times this season that the Beavers will compete in two dual meets on consecutive days. Oregon State will face Arizona on Jan. 3, before taking on Arizona State on Jan. 4, and will then compete against Washington State and Idaho on Jan. 24 and 25.
