CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State senior gymnast Stephanie McGregor has been recognized as a conference honoree for the 2013 NCAA Woman of the Year award. She is the Pac-12 Conference’s representative for the prestigious honor.
NCAA schools nominated 430 individuals for the national award, which reflects the growth in opportunity for women to achieve as students, leaders and athletes. A quarter of those honorees received the additional recognition by their sport conference for outstanding achievement in their collegiate career.
An announcement of the Top 30 honorees, 10 from each NCAA division, will be made on NCAA.org in early September.
McGregor, a fifth-year senior studying Bioengineering in OSU's Honors College, performed in the Beavers' bars lineup in all 12 meets in 2013 and in the vault lineup eight times. The Calgary, Alberta native posted a career-best 9.950 on the bars to help the Beavers set the school-record of 49.675 on the apparatus en route to winning the Pac-12 Championships in March. She was a first team all-conference selection on the bars this year and is a three-time Pac-12 All-Academic First Team selection.
