CORVALLIS, Ore. – Thirty-four former Oregon State baseball players are competing for affiliated organizations this season, including four who are at the Major League level.

Here’s a look at how each is performing at the midyear point of the 2013 season.

Brian Barden (Los Angeles Dodgers) – Has played 85 games for Triple-A Albuquerque, batting .277 with 19 doubles, three home runs and 37 RBI.

Darwin Barney (Chicago Cubs) – Chicago’s starting second baseman, he’s played in 79 games, batting .222. Has driven in 26 runs on the strength of 15 doubles and six home runs. Defensively, is fielding at a .994 clip with 43 double plays turned.

Carter Bell (Arizona Diamondbacks) – Playing for Single-A South Bend in the Midwest League, and has seen action in 45 games, batting .208 with seven doubles, two home runs and 11 RBI.

Parker Berberet (Milwaukee Brewers) – With Single-A Wisconsin of the Midwest League and has played in 54 games, batting .238 with nine doubles, one triple, five home runs and 19 RBI.

Matt Boyd (Toronto Blue Jays) – Recently signed with Toronto and has yet to see game action.

Mitch Canham (Kansas City Royals) – Has played majority of season with Double-A Arkansas in the Texas League, where has seen action in 64 games and is batting .275 with 18 doubles, two triples, one home run and 17 RBI. Also went 1-for-3 in a short stint with Triple-A Omaha.

Dan Child (Philadelphia Phillies) – Recently signed with Philadelphia and is currently with the club’s Gulf Coast League affiliate. Has pitched in one game, allowing one run in 2/3 of an inning.

Ryan Dunn (Tampa Bay Rays) – Is with Tampa’s Single-A affiliate, Bowling Green, in the Midwest League. Has played in 61 games, batting .208 with eight doubles, one triple, one home run and 16 RBI.

Mike Ekstrom (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) – Currently with the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees after opening the year with Triple-A Sacramento in the Oakland organization. Is a combined 2-2 with a 4.37 ERA in 32 outings, all relief, on the year.

Jacoby Ellsbury (Boston Red Sox) – Starting center fielder for the Red Sox and has seen action in 88 games, batting .305 with 21 doubles, seven triples, three home runs and 33 RBI. Leads both the National and American Leagues with 36 stolen bases in 39 attempts.

Sam Gaviglio (St. Louis Cardinals) – Currently sits on the seven-day disabled list with the Palm Beach Cardinals in the Single-A Florida State League. Is 3-1 with a 3.67 earned run average in five starts.

Cole Gillespie (Chicago Cubs) – Recently joined the Cubs after spending the season with San Francisco and its Triple-A club in Fresno. Is 1-for-1 with the Cubs. Played in 54 games for Fresno, batting .225 with eight doubles, three home runs and 16 RBI.

Ryan Gorton (Oakland Athletics) – Has played in 15 games with Single-A Vermont, batting .256 with one double, one home run and two RBI.

Danny Hayes (Chicago White Sox) – Recently joined Rookie League Great Falls and has appeared in 11 games, batting three doubles, one home run and six RBI.

Jordan Lennerton (Detroit Tigers) – Member of Triple-A Toledo who appeared in Sunday’s Futures Game. In 95 games for Toledo, is batting .296 with 14 doubles, 13 home runs and 43 RBI.

James Nygren (Miami Marlins) – Currently a member of Single-A Jupiter and has pitched in 24 games, starting one, and is 4-2 with a 2.68 ERA. Has issued just nine walks in 40 1/3 innings.

Ryan Ortiz (Oakland Athletics) – Has split time with Single-A Stockton and Triple-A Sacramento and is currently with the latter. Has a combined .196 average in 44 games, with eight doubles, three home runs and nine RBI.

Josh Osich (San Francisco Giants) – Recently promoted to Double-A Richmond from Single-A San Jose. Has combined for 39 appearances between the teams, and is 3-3 with a 3.47 ERA and 12 saves in 46 2/3 innings.

Joe Paterson (Arizona Diamondbacks) – Has played for Triple-A Reno for most of the season, going 2-1 with a 2.27 ERA in 30 appearances. Has also pitched in two games for Arizona, and is 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA in 2 1/3 innings.

Greg Peavey (New York Mets) – Has played the entire season with Triple-A Las Vegas, going 4-3 with a 6.26 ERA in 36 games, all in relief. Has pitched in 54 2/3 innings.

Jorge Reyes (San Diego Padres) – Has pitched the entire season for Triple-A Tucson, making 31 appearances, with three starts. Is 5-3 with a 4.70 ERA in 61 1/3 innings.

Kevin Rhoderick (Chicago Cubs) – Has pitched the entire season for Double-A Tennessee, making 26 relief appearances. Is 1-3 with a 4.95 ERA.

Daniel Robertson (New York Mets) – Has appeared in 90 games for Triple-A Tucson, batting .290 with 16 doubles, six triples, one home run and 30 RBI. Has 17 stolen bases in 21 attempts.

Tanner Robles (Cincinnati Reds) – Has appeared in six games for Single-A Bakersfield, going 0-4 with a 9.39 ERA.

Jake Rodriguez (Houston Astros) – Recently signed with Houston and is with Single-A Tri-City. Has appeared in nine games, and is batting .167 with one double and two RBI.

Stefen Romero (Seattle Mariners) – Has spent most of the season with Triple-A Tacoma, and has appeared in 67 games for the Rainiers. Is batting .292 with 19 doubles, two triples, six home runs and 50 RBI.

Adalberto Santos (Pittsburgh Pirates) – Has played the entire season with Double-A Altoona and has appeared in 75 games, batting .281 with 13 doubles, one triple, six home runs and 34 RBI. Has stolen 13 bases in 16 attempts.

Tyler Smith (Seattle Mariners) – Recently signed with Seattle and has appeared in 11 games with Rookie League Pulaski. Is batting .326 with three doubles, one triple and four RBI.

Kraig Sitton (Colorado Rockies) – Has spent the entire season with Single-A Modesto, appearing in 34 games out of the bullpen. Is 4-4 with a 3.19 ERA in 42 1/3 innings.

Mike Stutes (Philadelphia Phillies) – Currently on the disabled list with the Phillies and has thrown in 14 games for the club, all in relief. Is 2-1 with a 5.17 ERA in 15 2/3 innings.

Andrew Susac (San Francisco Giants) – Has played the entire season for Double-A Richmond and is batting .265 in 71 games. Has collected 17 doubles, 11 home runs and 39 RBI.

Daniel Turpen (Minnesota Twins) – Has split time between Triple-A Rochester and Double-A New Britain. Has combined to go 2-0 with a 5.63 ERA in 33 games between the teams.

Tyler Waldron (Pittsburgh Pirates) – Has spent the season with Double-A Altoona, and is 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA in 15 innings.

Joey Wong (Colorado Rockies) – Has played in 60 games for Double-A Tulsa and is batting .238 with 14 doubles, one home run and 14 RBI.
